If its identical to the BF:1942 map there's an airbase at the SE corner of the island and an Aircraft carrier NW of the island.Originally posted by P3NGU1N0For those of us who have never played Wake in 1942 whould any of you mind telling us nubber players whats good and bad about the map. I don't know if there will be jets, but I'm assuming there will be. The map will probably be similar to Dalian Plant.
There's obviously helicopters according to this screenshot:

Re: Wake Island 2007
Damn, I thought that a lot of people here had at least played 1942
I was there in the multiplayer demo days back in July 2002 and the map that came with the mp demo was... Wake Island.
I'm really looking forward to revisitng it. :)
I'm not too sure but perhaps the BF42mp demo is still uploaded somewhere, go try it!Comment

Re: Wake Island 2007
I thoroughly enjoyed Wake Island in BF1942 and re-enjoyed it again in the BFV mini BF1942 conversion.
I plan on re-re-enjoying again in BF2
Great map...looks SUPER sweet now in the BF2 engine...I can't wait to get back to Wake Island.Comment

Re: Wake Island 2007
Engys are going to love this map. AT mines are going to rule on the narrow road ways of this map. I remember sitting in a personnel carrier shooting the mounted gun at the Zeros...now its going to be the damn choppers that I'm after.
c4 and mines will own this map.Comment

Re: Wake Island 2007
You mean:Originally posted by CommanderDYeah it would be cool if we had hover crafts and like transport tanks and stuff from the aircraft carrier.
LCAC: The Landing Craft, Air Cushion Transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo and personnel of the assault elements of the Marine Air/Ground Task Force both from ship to shore and across the beach. The landing craft air cushion (LCAC) is a high-speed, over-the-beach fully amphibious landing craft capable of carrying a 60-75 ton payload. Capable of operating from existing and planned well deck ships, it is used to transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo and personnel from ship to shore and across the beach.

Perhaps the Chinese are slowly making their way accross the Pacific and heading towards the US mainland?Originally posted by -=FTG General Tso=-It should be interesting. I'm not sure what the Chinese are doing out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, but I'm game...
I like the wrecked Japanese plane in the other released screenshot. A sense of history...
Can you say future expansion??? I would think EA/DICE would do something like that. There's already a MOD that's working on this...Comment
