The best part about BF2 VOIP?

Being able to squelch overly chatty players. That's the best part.

I can't believe how some players socialize over VOIP like they are at a cocktail party (maybe there is a party room in BF2, and I just haven't found it yet). There's enough information coming at you without having to overhear a constant stream of irrelevant, inane chatter. Then there are the VOIP users who act like this is their first opportunity to cuss ever. Boring.

On the other hand, a squad leader who makes efficient use of VOIP is invaluable.

    Just thought I'd share. :)

Whats the point of playing this game if you can't have a laff? Yeah the VOIP makes a world of difference to a squad's integrity but surely when its quiet there's room for a bit of daftness?
Anyway If I get bored I'll spam useless topics in the chat channel while smoking a cigar on my AA gun. Doing this I found that chicken supernoodles aren't as popular as beef beleive it or not.

I am going to find out what server you are on next. I WILL join your squad and then I shall SING AT YOU.

"gotta have faith, gotta have faith. Faitha faitha FAITH! Baybee.... I know you ain't asking me to stay............"

Nothing like having a 10-year-old yelling at you over VOIP...yeah press the little button and you can squelch him is a great feature.

        lmao

I'll join right in. I swear, one time we had a whole squad singing:laugh: And there is nothing like a 10 year old on VOIP, "Hey guys, did you see I had the most revives? That was awesome!" Cracks me up everytime I hear one.

Also, anytime alcohol is involved, I'm chatting like a 16 year old girl the night before her junior prom.

but ohh what a giggle:laugh: I coulnt play for 5mins thru laughing that hard...brilliant.

I've only ever heard 2 people use it and I always join a squad.
Once a commander telling everyone what to do - like a commander should do
and second some random guy being random...

            Thats it
It's nothing like the chat on consoles. Especially xbox. I've never heard so many annoying retards in my whole life.
It is very rare if I don't have half of the people in a 10 person game muted cos they're so annoying/dumb/playing loud music/static/etc...

Re: The best part about BF2 VOIP?

The stuff you can sometimes hear on VOIP is flippin' hilarious! A few weeks ago I was in my clan's server playing with some clanmates. We have a habit of yelling, "Jackass!" to each other when we kill one another, or just for any reason whatsoever. It's all in fun and only over our private Ventrilo server. That being said, I decided to make a squad called "Jackasses". Everyone in the clan got a giggle out of it, and we went on our merry way playing. New map, and along comes this kid whose name escapes me. He applies for and makes commander, and we start playing the map. A few minutes into the map, I hear this high-pitched voice come over VOIP. It's the commander and he says, "DLWebmaestro96, change the name of your squad or I *will* kick you." This kid sounded all of 11 years old, and is threatening to kick me, an Admin. I just started busting out laughing. I have Ventrilo on voice-activated, so my clanmates asked me what was so funny. I told them about what happened and they all started laughing as well. They all made their own squad so they could listen-in to what the commander kid was saying. One of my clanmates started to act like he was drunk, and my other mates were saying things like, "Yeah, he's drunk tonight" So the kid says, "You need to get out of the server, you're drunk." Everything he said was so calm and matter-of-factly - that's what made it so funny. I then started to talk like the Swedish Chef, telling him, "Charlie's in the trees! I need ammo!" and all sorts of zany stuff in the voice of the Swedish Chef. Good times were had by all.

              *EDIT*
I remember his name now. It started with Mercenary and had a number on the end, something like 22 I think.
