Can't connect to ranked server

I'm really stumped on this one.

Whenever i try to cennect to a ranked server I get shis message:

"You must change you're copy of battlefield 2 to its original version."

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried with the patch, without the patch. I can do everything but connect to a ranked server.

I just hate that I can't get off 'private', thats such a girly rank!

Have you updated punkbuster manually?

Otherwise you may have to use the manual install method.

I have the same problem and have just updated PB. Still no joy though. Any suggestions, people?

Pop in your BF2 CD# 1 and use Windows to explore and locate a file on the disk called Battlefield2_Code.exe. It is located in the D:\Support folder. There, execute the Code and reenter your CD Key Number and you should be good to go.

Updating punkbuster worked for me!

Sorry for not replying earlier. But as soon as the game started working... well lets just say I waven't done much else since...

I have a new problem now though!

I can't install the new patch. It keeps saying:

"An error has occurred while running the setup.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted a hundred times??? I straight away told EA. They claim that they reply within 24 hours. well it has been 3 days!
