    Just a quick retrospect

I was thinking the other day, while playing. I was a huge operation flashpoint fan, the game engine and phyics were the best i ever seen in a game. It would be great to have some of those aspects in BF2. Examples would be, shooting dynamics, shoot someone in the leg, the leg is injured, both legs they have to crawl until they get med help. The m1a2 having 3 crew members, a driver, gunner and gunner/chief. The air dynamics were awesome as well, the sad part is they never developed it anyfurther. I love BF games, but i think it could be so much more in many ways. Just thought I'd throw it out there

Operation Flashpoint is the best FPS ever. Nothing comes close. :salute:

Agreed, one of my favourites and cannot wait for No2 to come out in the future

Totally my fav of all times, looking forward to OFP 2 in 2006, but imagine BF2 with the same game engine, the potential it would have. then again, OFP had great editors as well

I see BF1942 as being directly inspired by OFP as far as all vehicles being usable. OFP has it beat in sheer size of the maps, AI, and realism.

Agreed. I expected BF2 to be something similar to OFP before I bought it... I did get surprised... lol
I remember having massive amounts of maps just for the demo lol this game was awsome at that time
OFP's Game complexity beat BF2 by far, and it's about 4 years old...
I believe that even the AI was better in ofp then it is in BF2 Singleplayer...
Codemasters did an amazing job with that game.

Perhaps a PhysX card will help BF2???

Yea, orginally I thought that as well,, I was o hyped when I heard BF2 was coming and it was billed as the next generation, OFP was way ahead of the times, only thing that would make it better is graphics..not that they were bad for the time

I might load up OFP. Loved that game, but had a crappy system at the time. Bet it'll run great now...

Sweet, maybe some steep competition will mate EA shape up. Or maybe I'll just switch to OFP 2 or Armed Assault.

By the way, just installed OFP: GOTY and played Steal The Car... man the memories! The graphics suck, but everything feels... I don't know, bigger or something. Less like an arcade game. Now I have to play BF2 real quick to compare.

If by "amazing job" you meant marketing it... okay, but Bohemia Interactive Studios is the company that actually made the game.

Codemasters is to BIS as EA is to DICE.

                            Re: Just a quick retrospect

Yea OFP lacked in GFX as I said, but the engine is still ahead of the times, and with armed assault and OFP2 coming soon, Dice better take notes. Rumor is also that OFP2 will have a point system and a chain of command, have a feeling, unless Dice turns this around, I see a mass player movement...oh on another note, Anyone recalls..OFP didn't have bunnyhopping...another nice feature
