  • Settings wiped

So I started up my BF2 like I've done hundreds of times this year.
When i get to the loging screen I noticed that my resolution was'nt what it should be and that my Multiplayer login nick was gone.
When I entered my login details manually again and connected to a game, I noticed that 95% of my controls had been wiped too...

I have'nt touched my BF2 folder since instal...

Any ideas how to get back my controls, as it took me ages to set them up in the first place.

Also, my settings are all gone, I had to re-do all my graphic options and things are still not setup as before.

    Thanks in advance.

    Go to my docs/battlefield2/profiles
Have you got any folders like 001, 002, 003 ?

I have had this happen several times, backup your profiles folder.

Yeah 1 to 3 and a default folder.
The folder with the controls in... all the files seem to be 0 KB.

0 kb ? Thats the prob by the sounds of it.
Try saving ther profiles folder on to your desktop, then reinstall BF2 and put the profiles folder back.
But i think you will have to start again.
Next time save your profile folder to disc when you have configed it mate.

Yup Ive had it happen twice, its a bummer, kind of panicked the first time so I made a copy of config files. Having the same problem with Dungeon Siege 2 , but worse.

Funny thing is I never had this happen in the good old days when the saved game folder was in the GAME DIRECTORy.....of all places.

Anybody know the logic behind the My Docs, MYGAMES fad?
