i just realized that my .mpg's dont run anymore, in WMP it sits there w/ a black screen but says its playing, and in others it does same

If you updated to the nVidia 78.03s...don't...they have a video bug. Go to 78.05 or back to 78.01.

Or just re-install you drivers if you use ATI. I had this problem, re-installed, went away.

Or download last WMP from micro$oft web and install it if it isn't vidcard.

easy fix should be,.,, go to your diplay settings... go to your geforce tab, then video overlay... and check the box Enable VMR!

hey thx guys, forgot to post my specs... well im jut gunna put my vid card...

ATI 9600 256mb

i upgraded to the 5.9catalyst drivers and I got major slow down, and then just re-installed 5.8, Is that bad?

In the ATI Control Panel or in the ATI CCC (depending upon which version you are using) locate and untick the box "WMV Acceleration" under the Options tab.

Download VLC media player. WMP is garbage. VLC will play all.
