Hitting a moving target takes practice, but when perfected will increase your success with AT rockets tremendously.
Steps to hitting moving objects:
Note that you'll want to have the least amount of time correcting your AT Rocket in-flight. In time you'll be able to shoot and forget your AT rockets leaving you least exposed to enemy fire and more time spent readying your next shot to finish them off.
Additionally shooting without zooming in will allow you to reload much faster, but you'll not be as accurate without the reticle.
With experience you'll be able to shoot strafing helicopters, vehicles that pass behind buildings, and jets on bombing runs - yes I said jets because they line-up giving you a small chance to hit them.
Besure to look at the other threads about shooting around corners and where to hit targets to maximize your damage (i.e. 2-shot tanks by hitting them in the treads).
Good luck soldier!!!
Steps to hitting moving objects:
- Estimating target distance: AT rockets have a flight-time that you have to correct for. Determining the targets distance is your first step in predicting where to aim.
- Estimating target speed: The faster the target the larger the lead you'll need to put on your rocket.
- Correcting during flight: The AT rocket, if you hold down your Left Mouse Button, can be steered. By leading your target you want to make as little correction to the flight of the rocket. This also gives your target the least amount of time to try to dodge your shot since your reticle won't be on them giving them warning.
