Unequal tickets on a ranked server?

Anyone ever come across a server where one team starts with more tickets than the other?

I was on XXXranked server, got put on MEC and came in halfway through an a$swooping. So next round starts a couple minutes later and I tried to switch to US b/c thats what I usually prefer, but I could not switch teams. Well, nothing really out of the ordinary there, until I looked up at the tickets, and the US side was starting with 20 more tickets than the MEC side, and we all could not switch teams. It was totally uneven the whole time and they were pretty much raping the MEC side.

Not to complain but I have never seen a ranked server with unequal starting tickets. That is the closest thing to flat out cheating I have seen. When I asked the admin there for an explanation he wouldnt say anything.

Anyone else heard of this?

On some maps, one side starts with more tickets. It's just how the maps are designed. It's completely legit.

The first example that comes to mind is Gulf of Oman, where the USMC gets an extra 20 tickets at the start of a 32-player round (if I recall).

Gulf of Oman, sharqi peninsula, strike at karkand, dragon valley, and some others qall give 1 side more tickets than the other side.

Maybe I never took the time to notice the starting tickets. (and I have played over 24 hours lol). IMHO thats really not fair, but if its how the game was designed... I dont want to whine.

Keep in mind, that in most cases, the side with more tickets also begins the round with their tickets draining due to a lack of flags. The extra tickets make up for the time it takes that side to organize its initial push against the defenders.

except on oman where the us start with 5 points and 10% more tickets and no drain, while mec have 4 points (on the 64 player version at least)

though it is easy to take the bomber up and constantly pound the carrier (much easier to do that than do it to the MEC airfield imo)

I thought the tickets where based on how many players there on the team?! It´s rarely an equal amount of players on each side, and I thougt it was a way to compensate that...

unless auto balance is off the balance always works out as the bigger team dies as ther eis nothing more fun than getting punted to other team at end as the sore loosers quit and i end up with a lose instead of a win

tickets are standard for each map if there are only 32 peeps in a 64 map starting numbers are same as if it was full

bf1942 was the same way. Like as stated above - it has to do with starting flags and perma spawns, etc.
