*** This is not a debate over which is better keyboard/mouse vs. joystick ***
THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE OTHER POSTS EITHER - please read.
this is not the droid you are looking for either...(for you nerds)
I have been a part of the K/M vs joystick debates, and I have contributed to the threads on which sticks to buy (inputting what I use)...however - none of those threads contained the information that I am now looking for...at least in the kind of detail that I would like to see.
The situation is - my favorite joystick (Logitech Force Feedback from way back in the day - when it was the size of a small house with analog throttle) - is now nearing the end of its days, and is no longer made.
I have come to the realization that I need to shop for a new Joystick. I am looking in the sub $90 range if possible.
I am particularly interested in feeback from those people that have the seperate joystick/throttle setups - like the one listed first below
If you have a joystick - and use it to fly helicopters - you are whom I am looking for. I know I can fly a jet with pretty much any joystick with success, it is the chopper pilots I am interested in hearing most from.
If you would - please answer these questions (any/all):
1.) which brand/model joystick do you use?
2.) do you remember what you paid or how much they are?
3.) does it autocenter - either by spring or force feedback?
4.) how is the throttle - does it allow enough control to set a hover and not have to fiddle with it, once you get proficient?
5.) what features, if any, do you dislike about the joystick you are using?
Here are the ones I am currently considering, basically listed from first to last place in preference.
Saitek J24C X45 Flight Control Joystick
Saitek PS30 JOYSTICK
Logitech 963291-0403 Attack 3 USB Joystick
Logitech 963290-0403 Extreme 3D Pro USB Joystick
Saitek CYBORGEVO Joystick
Thank you for the input in advance you joysticking piloting fools!
