Joystick controls not responding

Often I go to fly a plane or heli and my joystick controls will not respond. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, leaving me to control the aircraft with keyboard controls which is pretty much not an option. I have a logitech interceptor that works fine on all other games, so the problem is not the joystick. Also, when I go to bind the buttons and movements on the joystick, I get message that the movements/buttons are already in use. Anyway it's a bunch of f*****n bulls**t and I'm really tired of it. I've tried going back and redoing all my binds, which helps for a game or two, then it goes back to being the same old thing. I've also downloaded the latest drivers for it.

Any suggestions??

Are you using the mapping software that comes with the joystick? If so, don't.

FYI
I found that when in the game take out the USB connection and replace it back in the usb hole then my J stick works.

Anyone know why that is I cant remember the fix?
I don't have the SaiteK X52 program running just keys bound?
