Question about the Spec Ops Add-on

I am wondering what is going to happen to the points system once the new add-on comes out. Will points earned in the new game go towards points that we have earned in regular BF2? And what about unlocks, can we use the unlocks that we have already earned in the add-on?

No-one really knows. You'll have to wait until nearer the release date for solid information about the expansion.

In one of the interviews they had a couple months ago. I don't have the time to look for it again but I'm pretty sure it's there. This question was asked about a month ago and that was the answer.

Yeah that was his answer all they ever said is there will be new medals for the expansion never said it would be a whole diffrent account .......they pretty much never said anything about the ranking medals points or anything else that has to do with accounts

The answer was more vague than that:

[EA] DieFledermaus: Yes, our intention is to have Xpack 1 be part of the Stats and Tracking system, but I don't believe we've announced any details around how SF stats will work with core stats

maybe it will be one account but in BFHQ u choose between normal and the expansion!

I would be pretty amazed if it operated with separate browsers and separate accounts. Ranked servers should be able to run a mix of normal and SF maps. But we don't know anything at this point and it seems like EA's new motto is, "Common sense is an uncommon virtue."

it would make sense for ranks to carry over, not unlocks though (if there are any).

They didn't say enything clear about that, but they did say there will be medals and ribons added , nothing about ranks.

So my guess is and it's the most logical that you rank is moved over to SF , unlocks is a no because SF uses other weapons.

And it's an expansion pack, so it's perfectly normal that you keep the rank you got in BF2 , it would be stupid for each expansion they make a total new ranks system, this is also why the ranks are so high
