TFT Monitor
I am looking to get a 19" tft monitor. The problem is, i dont know what the "12ms" and the "400:1" is all about. Any help much appreciated.

The 12ms is your response time, generally the lower the better. Anything 12ms and under should be alright for gaming. The 400:1 is your Contrast ratio, the higher the better. Those are pretty standard numbers for most tft monitors. -

Just be careful. 12ms is probably the grey-to-grey response. 400:1 is the contrast ratio. As LCP said the higher the better. I would try to get 450:1 or 500:1. It won't make a huge difference, but if your eyes are sensitive you will notice some difference.Comment
