Connections problems _once_ a minute

Hi there!

I got my new notebook and it runs BF2 smoothly.
I have enough FPS when on- and offline.
But I had laggs (more like skippy animations) when playing
online - although ping is always from 20-30.
I have an audigy notebook soundcard and I've read sth about problems
with it. So I stopped playing BF2 using the onboard sound and plugged
in PCMCIA card.
I took the latest drivers and the skippy gameplay was gone.
But I had complete whole lags (1-2seconds) from time to time.
I've read a guide about installing a kind of a patch from creative and
swapping a dll.
I did so.
I can play quite fluently but exactly once in a minute, there is a lag
of 1-2 seconds - together with the messesage, that I have connections problems.

I don't run any anti-virus software, nor desktop firewall.
Have been looking for suspicious software running in the background because "once in a minute" looks like a software that is (trying to) connecting to the internet. Didn't find something suspicious.

Any ideas? Maybe sth with the WLAN? (used the USB Stick on my desktop computer without problems before)

If you're playing through a router, look for a firmware upgrade.

I'll do go for that! Thanks! Can you estimate how hot this hint is or was it just a gerneral one?

It's a general one that I have found to work with games that have predictable and repeatable network issues.

Unpredictable network issues tend to be those out of your control.
