serious problem

when i join a game, after it loads, when i should normally be able to play, i don't see the landscape really, i see the hud and like everything else is black

i've got an amd 3200+
512mb ddr 3200 with 512 more on the way
xfx 6800gt that i just bought

this didn't used to happen with my 5200fx... i am so sad

i just tested it in dod;source and it isn't showing the weapon or player models, but it is showing most of the map

Did you uninstall the old drivers completly, then reinstall new drivers?

yes i did, but i will try again, when it first loads a map (in bf2) everything looks fine for like half a second, and then pretty much all the textures turn black...

Look for a program called DriverCleanerPro, read what it says to do, and follow the directions.

ok i used drivercleanerpro and it didn't help.... =( still most all the textures are black... except the trees

Has the card ever worked right? If not then I'd say you have a bad card.

Did you delete all of your BF2 cache as well after installing the new card?

I ALSO GET THIS PROBLEM!!! but only on occasions and my cpu is only 2months old and everything on it was already installed. i presume its a bf2 game problem and not the pc. it tend to only happen to me on the dragon valley map, everythin turns black except trees and grass!!!! its so annoying, it also only happens in certain areas of a map (example) like the top base and surroundings. if someone could find a soloution to this problem i would be very greatful

yeah its not just in battlefield 2, its also in half life 2 source (i can't see weapon or player models) and any mods for that, also world of warcraft doesn't work right either

HAVE YOU FITTED NEW HARDWARE "DO THIS"

YOU MUST REINSTALL THE BF2 GAME

Because the game programming will not recognise the new card.

If you install any new hardware games like this that recognise hardware in such a way need to be reinstalled after new hardware installation.
