I am getting moving wavy lines where it should be a small rock wall in the Gulf of Oman. It is sporadic but more often they are wavy lines. Also, when I update my video settings I have to delete the cache everytime or the shaders do not optimize when loading a map after changing video settings. The only thing I have done out of the ordinary is when looking for a suggestion on getting 1280 x 1024 screen resolution I applied a command I was given to the executable from a command prompt (ms-dos window) instead of adding the criteria to the target line of the shortcut.

Running that resolution command line switch won't cause image quality problems. Most likely it is driver related. You said it only happens on Gulf of Oman, is this because you are using the Demo still? Or are are the other maps perfectly fine? Specs would be helpful too. -

No I have the full version. I have all the latest drivers for all components. I have been training on the Gulf of Oman singleplayer so I have not really noticed any other graphics issues. I do know that before I applied that command that I did not have to delete the cache to optimize shaders.

I really think the cache optimzation is still broken and was never fixed in that second patch like they said. I often have to do the same and delete it.
If it really is just that particular map with broken textures, I would imagine there is a possibility that a few game files are corrupt. A reinstall should solve that.Comment

A manual uninstall is only necessary if one is having serious corruption. There is a Regestry entry that holds a lot of info but none about specific textures. So in your case, using the Add/Remove feature should be fine.
Follow these steps:
Navigate to...
C:\Documents and Settings\Shamus\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles
...and make a copy of that folder in order to save your profile for controls, sound and stuff. Plus, this keeps you from having to reenter your Authorization info.
Once you have that folder backed up, use Add/Remove to uninstall and reboot. Defragment your HD and then Install the game.
