So the different player classes weigh the same? You would think someone with body armor and a machine gun would weigh more than someone with just BDUs and a rifle.

But I've seen planes land in so many strange ways, at the end of a map, without exploding. (however it has probably nothing to do with weight :P)
Thats the physics of the game. At the end of the round the game "kills" everyone thats still alive. Meaning the choppers and planes are pilotless which gives them that weird state when they fly on their own. The same as they continue flying on their own if you bail out. Especially choppers which don't just fall to the ground like they would in real life.

Each "light soldier" and "heavy soldier" has the same mass. I think it's more to do with the "gravity" in the game rather than actual weight. Its why all the vanilla bf2 soldiers jump to the same height.
I think the weight of each class (not saying they are different - just some kind of variable maybe) plays into effect of how far and long they can sprint as well...at least I think so. To me it seems like the sniper can sprint the farthest, then medic, and support/AT is at the bottom of the list.

Yeah they're a different variable:
There's two types of soldier, the one with armour and the one without.
The "Light soldier" sprints for longer and recovers quicker than the "Heavy soldier"
Light soldiers sprint recovery time is 17, heavys is 20
Light soldiers sprint dissipation time is 15, heavys is 12
Light soldier has 0.15 of the sprint bar lost while jumping, heavy loses 0.2
You can probably work out which class uses which type:
Engineer, Medic, Sniper and Spec Ops are the "light soldiers"
Assault, Anti-Tank and Support are all "heavy soldiers"
yeah i must say you guys are right...after some meditation, i conclude that a Bh wich weight 10000Kg and 6 100kg soldiers enter...there would not be much difference between full load, or empty load as it would only weight 10600Kg.
there is a difference once fully loaded, it is really slow to take off, and does not seem very agile, even thought is not too agile, and the hummer does seem slow when fully loaded.
I think Kg would a safe measurement usage.
If the Hummer weighs in at 2500 units and the guys weigh 100 each then there would be slight (but noticable) difference in the performance of a Hummer weighing 2500 and one weighing 2900.
