Cant play above low settings without annoying start lag...

can anyone help me? ive been told my system should almost run high with the hardware i have.

Is that an AMD processor?
If so then yes medium-high quite easily.

yep AMD 64 300+

but will i be getting the start game lag??

what exacly do you think i should set it to, eg, textures, lighting, aa....

Delete everything in mydocs/battlefield2/mods/bf2/cache and try it.

Also 1.8ghz will not run on high.
I have a system with 1.8ghz that runs ok on medium, but if i put it up to high on any of the settings it cant handle it .

ohh that sucks, anyone know where that topic (notsure if this site) that gave u estimate on what your settings should be, based on your hardware?

I had the same problem... When I would first get in a map the game would lag for about 10 to 15 seconds. (All settings on high) I upgraded form 1 to 2 gigs of ram (DDR 400) and the problem went away.
