    Teamkill Punish etiquette

    Sorry for the bad spelling...

It annoys me when you are punished when clearly you do not deserve it. I never teamkill (or at least intentionally) and when I do I say sorry, or more often than not, say I am an idiot for being so careless...)

Occasionally I accept that I deserve being punished. However, I propose that some etiquette (SP) be applied before punishing players while on ranked servers.

Before I punish teamkillers (most of the time I don't; since after all you are at war and these things happen - like coming around a corner and a friendly jeep flys past and hits you or while in the thick of a fight you get shrapnel from a grenade - dont punish for that) There is obviously grey areas between punish or non punishable offenses, but when someone who genuinely intends to play a game fairly to do good by his team gets kicked from a server for excessive teamkilling, I dont think that you have been punished fairly.

Dont punish when you are hit by artillery and you have had fair warnings.

I always try to remember people's nicks when i get teamkilled for the first time, so that if it happens again and again i know, but unless I am sure they intended to kill me, or they did something completely idiotic, i dont punish...

One time, when I noticed a recurring teamkiller, I walked up to him in game and we stood there looking at each other for a few seconds, no shots were made, I jumped a few times to let him know I acknowledge he is doing something abnormal, i turn to leave and i get shot by him, I punish him and write message to everyone in the game that he is a blatant teamkiller, wrote his nick out in full and recommended that he be kicked. nothing happened to him. I never even kill teamkillers like that, because it will only go against your stats.

I hate teamkillers, and I am sorry when I do it by accident, I apologize and sometimes deserve being punished, but i hate it when people punish every teamkiller everytime without thinking that just maybe, perhaps they were stupid evough to drive over friendly mines or something like that.

What does everyone else think about it?

This is my first post, so i expect to be yelled at for something I have said, so go ahead :)

If I had a beer for every time someone got mad from a tk and came here and posted it.... well, I probably would be passed out ****ing myself.

beleive me, we all feel your pain. The best we can hope for is a fix to the system down the road somewhere.

I hear you. Its totally pathethic. I have been tempted lately to just copy down the intentional tkers names. Make a new account, get on All Seeing Eye, Locate them, & make their online gaming a living HELL !! ROFL! I should start a tk'er, auto-punish Noob Hunting Clan!

Killing the TKers is exactly what they want you to do. They're trying to bait you into TKing them. Just let them TK you, and after the third or fourth time, they get kicked and banned from the server, albeit for just a short while.

You know what's really funny, in my experience punishes happen completely opposite of when they should for me. Like, I'll come around a corner, get startled, and just waste a teammate. Or just today, a squadmate spawns right in my face (I was squad leader) as I was running along, as a knee-jerk reaction I hit the trigger and in one bloody shot with the G3 I kill him. BOOM HEADSHOT!!! (Why the hell I can't kill enemies that efficiently I'll never know :p ). He didn't punish me. One time on Songhua we were taking back the US main flag, and I see a guy go prone near the flag, so I waste him with my tank because I didn't see the blue name. He doesn't punish. All of those times, if I'd have been punished, I wouldn't have minded a bit. I was quite surprised at their generosity.

No, the times you do get punished are when nitwit teammates run over your landmines, or actually step IN FRONT of you while you're shooting someone. Just today on Karkand I was picking at a guy who was shooting at us in his Vodnik, and as I'm popping off shots one of my teammates jumps in front of my stream of shots (I wasn't moving, and he came from behind me to do this), dies, and punishes. Bizarre.

          My style.

They took out enemies at the same time = no problem.
They kill me accidently = I wait for a sorry, if they do not say it I just let the time run out.
They kill me through blatent stupidity (ie. throw grenade to get kill before someone else)
          = Punish straight away.

You have to see if the guy the tked you died. Sometimes I chuck a grenade, I end up tking someone, I die and he punishes. I ask why and he says, "You didn't say sorry". I say, "I was dead buddy". And he says, "Oh, my bad." And I reply finally, "So how's that going to help me?"

I hardly ever punish when someone TK's me (unintentionally) for the first time, even if he did it in a slightly stupid way.. I start to punish when i see someone continuously playing in a way that shows he lacks brains/respect for his teammates lifes.

                  This includes.
                  1. Killing infantry by thowing around c4 in tight, heavily populated areas.
                  2. A commander coninuously artying flags his teammates were already capping( i dont punish if i run into arty simply because i didn't pay attention to the minimap)
                  3. A jet pilot continuously TK'ing by carpet bombing flags that don't even have enemy armor nearby
                  etc. etc..

i also hate BH whoring so much that i do punish if someone in a blackhawk TK's me while whoring. :|

I get punished for stupid reasons.

I'm a F15 (since with the F18 carpet bombing is nearly useless), I kill about 5 enemies beside the flag with 2 TK's and 2 punishes come straight up. Even though I killed 2 APCs 1 tank and 2 infrantry, they still have the nerve.
