Private???

Over the last week or so, sometimes when I join a server it shows me as a Private, with no unlocks. Other people have Ranks, but mine is gone. I set my BF2 browser to show servers that are Ranked/PB-On/FF-On, so I don't think it's that.

It doesn't bother me all that much, because I can go to another server. I just found it weird, and I was unable to find it via Search, so I started a New Thread.

Yeah, I used to get that for every few servers I went in, it hasn't done it for a few weeks now though.

some servers have their own ranking system and keep track of your stats at their clan site.

It drops me down to private/wont let me use my unlocks sometimes,but it always fixes in a few hours.

yeah, I get that problem once in awhile as well. I usually just exit (as soon as I notice it), log out, and shut down the game. maybe even do a re-boot for good luck.

then the problem usually goes away. sometimes, it persists anyways, no matter what I do.

I get the problem every once in a while. Funny thing happend though, i started my own lan server to practice flying, and when i joined i had no rank either. I logged out and back in, started up the lan again and my rank was back with my unlocks.

When you join a server, the server queries the EA stat server for your current stats and award info. That way it knows when to show you the image and text that you've gained an award or whatnot. This is also how it knows which unlocks to allow you to use.

When the stat server is being lagged, the query returns a null answer. By default, the game server will assume that your scores are all 0, and you have no awards. You are also a Private. Note that you will be getting basic awards and ribbons again in that game, though they won't count.

Oh, and bigbay, local servers and single player servers do not contain your rank or unlock information. Something in your story is flawed,

happens to me sometimes, too. what i usually do is rejoin the server or find a different server and everything will be all right. bug?

I get that to sometimes. Best fix I found was to disconnect and login with a different account and then log back into to first account and its usually fixed.
