The Xbox 360 wont do that well really if you fully know what it's capible of. I think it has alot of current gen hardware (well not the GPU obviously) but most importantly it is still using a DVD drive, it might seem like a lot of storage now but with higher detailed models, higher resolution skins, larger areas and overall more detail - this will get filled quite quickly (even San Andreas filled one, they needed a Dual layer DVD for that game and thats current gen). Alot of developers have decided to produce games for the ps3 instead of xbox360 due to its power (PSM was told by a reliable source that "the PS3 is considerably more powerful than the X360 across the board") and its easier to develop on ("Both are friendly, but the PS3 may actually be friendlier", "People are finding that the [xbox] 360 has some stupid bottlenecks" - PSM)
Also, due to this, GTA4 is going to be for PS3 only as R* North is developing a specialized game engine for it.
@The people saying consoles are a waste of time because they can get a PC which will out-perform the consoles: In the future yes but not straight away. It's always the same, once a new console comes out then it will outperform a pc then after some time the pc's will catch up again.

exactly. consoles have no purpose but to play games (well you can use some as expensive dvd players) so judging them on anything other than the games they have is pointless.
when mgs2 came out, it was reason to get a ps2.
when resident evil 4 came out, it was reason to get a gamecube.
when ninja gaiden came out, it was reason to get an xbox.
pc's would be better than consoles(i can surf the net, d/l anything and use my TV for watching TV while i do it) all the time except that many classic games never, ever get released on pc. unless you want to use emu's but most current gen emu's only work on a handful of games and only then if you have a vastly superior rig to the console you are emulating.

Not a fan of PS so xbox is the way forward Online FPS is strictly PC with me
but for most other games i.e footie games...I prefer consoles
(i work using PCs so it can be a hassle to use em).
The new 360s are reasonably priced imo and with the live packages, they aint too bad.
Although I may wait til after xmas

Good point, glasseye, subsitute Zelda for resident evil 4 (even though that ended up being my favorite GC title) and that's what I did. I personally don't think there is a single exclusive XBOX title that's worth picking up the whole system. And if anyone says that HALO was a remotley good game, I'm sure they never played an FPS before.
I'll get the PS3 (hopefully used) for the MG and FF titles but that's about it.

can't remember but someone posted earlier xbox live owned sony online? lol i'll admit they do probably have more dedicated game servers out there, due to the fact u gotta pay 60$ to Bill a year or whatever it was lol, but speak for yourself roflmao nothin i hated more than waiting sometimes upto 20min for a halo2 game to join roflmao, and the games still lag, just like ps2 games, and any other online game out there, and unless xbox live had no lag whatsoever, its hardly better than any other online console out there lol
as for gfx and stuff, neither really owns the other as some people seem to say, since i doubt you've actually stood infront of the systems and played it hands on. i just say wait an see, they'll both own probably, and chances are you'll buy one and see a game u want for the other an buy it up to lol. since i hear for ps3 an YBOX (yhea i'mma call it that rofl) are supposedly gonna have more proprietary games this time around
oh well, i just hope they actually release the systems when they say they are, i don't really feel like waiting an extra year for releases.
