The thing about the graphics in BF2

First off, yes, I know this is most likley going to turn into a thread about how we all want to kill EA because they put one too many pixels in the black hawk windsheild or something, but here it goes...

The visuals in battlefield are quite impressive (if you turn the graphics on high, I know on low the original Mario looks better), however, I feel EA spent a tad too much time on how detailed the textures were and a tad too little and things like the draw distance on the grass and other objects. Honestly, I'd rather not see grass sprout from the ground infront of me as a walk even if it was at the sacrifice of reading the writing on the C4 bricks. Anyone else feel this way?

I agree, it's like they meshed two different games together. One with great graphics, and one with crappy graphics.

I agree with the grass. On low settings, it is only visible up to 5 feet in front of you, might as well be able to turn it off.

EA. DID. NOT. MAKE. THE. GAME.

I'm sick and tired of people blaming graphics problems, like how things look, and gameplay problems, like over powered weapons, on EA, when they didn't even make the game. If anything, you could only blame them for rushing the game out.

I'M not blaming this on EA, I just said that's what it is most likley to turn into.

          Back on topic,

Even on HIGH you notice the draw distance on the grass if you are driving in vehicle. Bad draw distance destroys the illusion for a game more than lack of sparks or crappy textures ever could. Also, ever notice how shadows look incredibly pixelated no matter what resolution you have it on?

I really do like the affect (on high) which causes you to see shadows on your gun or vehicle as you move.

yeah i found 100%draw distance, geometery, textures on high, etc to be dissapointing.
