I would like some more gore and guts into fps games. SoF II had a nice damage modelling but i wonder why these new games won't implement similar features :/

Re: Gore in games.
Its called ESRB rating...the lower the rating the more potential sales. In some states I believe its illegel to sell 'M' (Mature), rated games to minors. If a game is 'T' (Teen), rated then it has a larger audience and potentially more profit.
Its money my friend.

Re: Gore in games.
Yeah i kinda figured it out by myself. But can parental lock systems decrease the ESRB rating? Too bad that money is in the way of innovation

Re: Gore in games.
like thats gonna happen. didnt you know? video game violence is the sole reason for all of humanities ills. not only do you possibly lose out on sales from a higher rating(as if anybody cares about the rating) you lose big chunks of profits because you need a cadre of layers on alert 24/7 to defend yourself from being held personally responsible for anything bad that happens by every blood sucking leech on the bar.
pandoras box, was an xbox. hey thats good. somebody write that down.

Re: Gore in games.
i want to be able to take the commander and somebody else hostage w/ a friend. i then want to be able to shoot the enemy thats not commander in the back of the leg and stradle his back while he is face down on the ground.
i would also like to be able to take of the shot guys helmet, grab him by the hair and smash his face into the pavement as hard as i can until i hear his skull crack like some kind of cadbury creme egg.
i would then pull out my knife and split his scalp along the crack in his skull and use my knife as a lever to prise the skull wide open. i would then reach in w/ my left hand and grab a big handfull of his brains and smear them all over my lips, chin and upper chest while screaming and moaning at everybody in the vicinity. finally i would like to be able to remove his eyeballs w/ the nerve endings attached and then wear them as earrings while i dance naked on top of a team mates tank as he goes into battle so that i can protect it w/ my powerful voodoo magic.

Honesly (not trying to be offensive in any way) are you some kind of sicko??, if you want to see more of that I'll send you some videos.
Also you cant get someones brains and put them on his lips, hed be dead unless its some EXTREMLY unlikly fluke event that he lives.
And if you smash his FACE against the ground till his skull cracks, he might be already dead
The reason why they dont include violence, is that people won't buy the game. So if something comes close to what Glass Eye sais, the game might not be popular and the company would lose money. I sure as hell would buy a game with too much violence (im talking about way past SOF II).
In my opinion there should not be arms and legs flying everyware, but blood would be good.

Re: Gore in games.
rofl, glasseye you are one bad futhermucker.
SoF was incredibly funny, i loved the shotgun + leg combo.
Its a good point, i dont want someone to simply slump to the ground after blowing up themselves with c4, they should be in a million pieces across Kubra Dam.... mmm blood soaked dam.

Yeah and glasseye please don't use your satire coz you can't assume that everyone understands what it means. But anyways BF2 would be way more fun if there would be a decent damage system. It just simply feels slightly dumb when you empty 7 rounds with a shotgun from 2m to a guy and all what happens to him is that he's emitting some weird dust. And i don't get it why they would have to add the ERSB rating. I mean is it more dangerous to show kids that when you shoot someone they just leave this small dust cloud instead of starting to bleed in agony.

Re: Gore in games.
I think games should have settings of the amount of gore Low-BF2 style Med-Blood High-More blood Special-Limbs found 100 miles away from where you were blown up.

Re: Gore in games.
That one was really funny, though greandes, when they explode actually chunk out pieces of flesh, i think they should have something like a really good and detailed prximity damage system. something like a greanade blowing up close to your fce will hinder your viewing or something like that!!!Originally posted by alkajazzthe dust is actually your soul leaving your body
