I just had an idea that would seem to end almost all the frustration in BF2. TAKE OUT THE CHAT FUNCTION. Not only would it end all the stupid smacktards stupid comments, but it would also end all the complaining of the people that were unfairly TK punished. I just though of how sweet it would be to play a game without haveing to listen to stupid people bitch at eachother, or complain all game, and it seems soooooo nice, i may just look into a mod that can get rid of it.
I have an idea to rid the game of all frustration!

Re: I have an idea to rid the game of all frustration!
Actually, in the games I play it seems very few people use the in-game chat. In BF:V I used to talk to people all the time, and I'd usually say 'good fight' or 'nice shot'. In BF2 almost nobody seems to chat, although you're right - when the do it's usually to complain or insult. :hmm:

Actually this might be a good idea as people would more or less be forced to use VoIP. Yeh I know, before you say it I know people abuse VoIP too, but you can mute people with voice chat
Anyway, I don't think you'd loose any gameplay by talking the chat out of the game, as the commo rose has most important team messages available anyway.Comment

we need the chat in game. countless times i ave set up sweet manouvers with some guy outside of my squad. there are to many people out there who have no mics, so all tactics must be typed. works very well. i also like getting peopole with the orange ALT +F4 FOR UPGRADES message, its so fun!Comment

Re: I have an idea to rid the game of all frustration!
To be completely honest, I think people chatting is very rarely the cause of my frustration. My frustration usually arises from fighting an army of noob tubers, or missing someone 3 times with the M95 from a distance of 200m.

There is surely a relation to skill and use of all the game functions.Originally posted by USAR_Urielin my experience.. its only the people at the top of the board that talk in chat.. we all like to give eachother crap... its fun to talk smack to the enemy :-)
Required chats;
"spawn at their airfield" when you just took it.
"vote yes to kick <player>, he is TK ing"
"Teams !!!!!" when it's 5 versus 17
"ownt" when it gets a little personal
"n1" when he owns you back
"lol" when something really funny happens.
Reading chat is optional and clearly very few people actually exercise this option. In an environment of TS, vent, VOIP, or nothing it all, it is the communication tool that covers everyone if wanted.Comment

Re: I have an idea to rid the game of all frustration!
The only time I actually find the Chat feature useful is when people are trying to kick/ban someone and they're asked to explain themselves. I generally vote against a kick unless someone can tell me that the person is TKing for vehicles or something.Comment
