Im sickk of guess and check

I just ordered and recievec a BFG 6800gt oc agp 256mb card. what should my settings be, i tried putting everything on high @ 1024x768@75hz and it was a lil choppy. any help is much appreciated

need more specs. or you could just set things on lowest and raise them until it is no longer smooth.

i have a 2.8 p4 ht, 1 gig of ram...and (2) 7200 rpm hard drives, total of 330 gigs

at a glance you should be able to run things pretty much all on high most of the time. when things get hectic you will lag a bit because of your ram.

umm you should be able to swing

1200x900.
lighting low.
dynamic shadows&lighting low or mid.
draw 100%
texture filtering mid.
effects high.
textures high.
AAx2

w/ no worries. if that works fine, try turning settings up one at a time as much as you can and still keep it smooth.

I have the same card, And I run everything at max, plus max A.A. But, I do have a 3.8GHz prossecor, 4gb ram, a soundblaster X-Fi and 1TB of Hd space. I love my main rig.

Turn your textures down to Medium. It isn't that big of a deal. Also drop the Anti-Alaising (if you have it on at all) to 2x. This will help a lot. The high textures on this game requires quite a bit of RAM to execute (over 1GB).

Try more ram.
