  • Installing ram.

Ok well i just got some ram- an additional 184 pin(2x512mb) and i opened up the computer to put the ram chips in and, on the mother board. i flipped down the white clips, attempted to insert the ram, and it dosent want to go all the way down into the slot.... any ideas? My Mobo is an ABIT Is7-e.

Yes.. Now i have never done this before ,and i wasnt sure how to put it in(which way that is.) and i tried both ways, And i didnt want to apply to much force to the ram, i didnt want to damage anything, How much force does it require? to get these damn things in?

184 pin only goes in one way.

you can handle them really rough. I treat all my parts like crap and ive never had a problem.

It does only go in one way, theres a shorter part and a longer part. Undo two clips of the side, ram it it in their, push on both sides until clips go back up.
