Inability to "hijack" enemy vehicles and kits

I think I'd like this. First off, I don't like how soldiers can pick up the kits of others. In a real battle, chances are an engineer wouldn't also be trained in medicine or that a medic would be able to heal other soldier without some special training.

As for not being able to hijack enemy vehicles, it would make the game more realistic, as most soldier probably aren't trained to use enemy equipment (though cars should be an exception). It would also decrease friendly fire.

Changing kits is a really helpfull feature.. and if the opposing team doesn't feel they can use their tanks, why on earth would it be impossible to turn their weapons against them? Maybe 'in real life' soldiers wouldn't be trained for using it but hey, last time I checked, BF2 ISN'T real life..

If it happens enough, maybe they get smarter and start using it.. if not, it's just your basic Darwinism.. they'll soon be extinct through their own fault..

Being able to pick up another kit is a good feature, simple as that; if ur proposing that people can only stick with one kit because theyre not "trained" enough to be a medic or engineer, then surely we shouldnt be able fly helicopters, fighter planes, AND drive tanks, because I dont think any soldier can do ALL THAT.

I think they should add a GTA feature. Let you car-jack the enemy vehicles. Now that would rock.

Firstly, it's an arcade game! Secondly, just have fun. In a real battle, defibs can't cure everything, enginners can't hold their spanners at the outsided of a broken veichle and it magically repairs, and so on.

I agree about hijacking vehicles. Running to an enemy base and grabbing their tank is a bit cheesy; it feels like you really should be forced to bring your own firepower an slug it out, rather than stealing tanks.

A gun is a gun is a gun. They're all really the same, shooting a MP-5 is just as easy as shooting a AK-47. Just pull the trigger.

Actually, in WW2 it was very common to use the enemy's tanks/vehicles/etc when they capture them.

Captured Panthers proved to be extremely popular vehicles among Soviet troops, who received them as rewards for extraordinary achievements in combat, and who sought (contrary to regulations that captured Tigers and Panthers should not be repaired but abandoned and destroyed after mechanical failure) to keep them in service as long as possible. Even the Pantherfibel service manual was translated into Russian and provided to crews of captured Panzers! (http://www.answers.com/topic/panther-tank)

Since when did Dice try to make BF realistic?

Yes, it's an arcade game. So according to your logic it seems we should have no regard for realism and you would have no problem, for example, if battlefield 2 came with armored knights as a class, had combat knives be the same knifes you use to cut bread, guns which shot small pieces of fruit instead of bullets, the Chinese spoke French and they did away with gravity entirley?

I think some people who use this "It's not supposed to be realistic, IT'S A GAME" argument towards every new idea that comes up know it's flawed logic. The point of BF2 is a balance. If you want a game with total disregard to realism then stop playing Operation Flashpoint and Counter-Strike and buy Serious Sam or one of the games from the "Worms" series and see what it is like when a game company truly doesn't care about realism.

And yes, being able to pick up a kit is a useful feature. You know what else would be useful? Teleportation, invincibility, and an "auto-win" button.

Good points otherwise though, I'll have to think about them more tommorrow.

I thought this but definatly NO, for obvious gameplay purposes.

..................... you're dumb. I have no idea why you'd want to remove this feature. Say that you take a CP, but the vehicles haven't changed from USMC to the MEC vehicles. Basically, what you're saying is you'd have to destroy them somehow and wait for them to respawn, THEN get in?

And the kits? How hard is it to put down an AT mine or a claymore.

                              Boom. Dead. Done.:|:
