    Changes to Mashtuur City

The map is a fun map but often tends to end fast. I think they should add a uncappable flag to it, as a matter of fact all maps should have 1 for each side.

    I disagree.

I think if one side has one - it would be more fair for the other side to have one as well...but not saying that should be implemented.

I would like to see more maps with no perma spawns. Makes the caps more strategic - especially when you can cap both airfields, etc.

I want to take each spawn point one at a time. It would be a more concentrated battle.
It gets annoying when both teams take the farthest spawn point and you have to attack the opposite direction...

One fixed spawn per game sucks when you can just go and take the farthest one and crush the enemy in between the 2 spawns.
I would rather take control points in a specific order than have 2 fixed spawns per game.

Yeah, I'd like to see this in the game.

The solution to this is Supply-line Capture the Flag in addition to each side having a non-cappable flag.

Personally maps like Fushe Pass are great because both sides have non-cappable flags and everything else is neutral at start.

Personally if they had a mod that forced Supply-line capture order like this:

You know the solution to this right? "Supply line" flags. This is where in order to take one flag you have to have taken a previous flag in order.

          Here's a sample:

In the above image the red lines denote which order the USMC must take the flags. If the 3 flag from the upper left is taken then the MEC must take the flags back in the reverse order.

Sometimes there are "splits" in the flag order so you can choose which to take in which order like this:

In the above image USMC has to take the flags in this order, 1, 2 or 3, 3 or 2, 4 then 5. USMC can't take base 4 unless they own both 2 and 3. MEC can take EITHER base 2 or 3 when they have base 4, but to take base 1 they must have base 2 and 3.

To make it clear which flag can be taken the mini-map will have a red outline around the flag (like when infantry need healing, but this time around the flag's icon).

In the above map the USMC must take the flag that is highlighted in red atm, the flag directly to the west of them. If there are multiple flags they can take then they would also be red.

This forces the fighting to be between the flags instead of having ring-a-round the flagie all round chasing flags.

Now I think I can change the icons in the mini-map dynamically based on the "Supply-line" flag logic, but I'm unsure how to program the flags to do the logic. I don't want the flag to be able to capped if its not the correct flag - perhaps a message in-game as well ("You're at the wrong flag. You must take X flag first").

          Any ideas?

I HEARD, that someone made a server-side only patch for "Supply-line" flag logic, but I haven't found it.

there doesn't seem to be many servers running it which is unfortunate.

I think the idea of capping in order has merit, though it should still be possible for people to neutralise other flags outside of the regular order, i.e. you can neutralise a point to deny it to your enemy but you cannot actuall cap it unless it's the next one in sequence.

Doing this on all maps would be wrong though, especially the city ones. They're meant to be chaotic...

I don't mind ppl capping the farthest flag as such, if capping the flag was accomplished by driving through the enemy forces then thats OK, but avoiding all enemies by driving round the outside of the map is just cheap! (mostly on maps like oman)

Any DC players here? They had the "Push" maps where you had to take the flags in order, 1,2,3,4, and the opposing army had to do the same. Dont remember the name of the one I played the most, but the US spawned in a huge tent city type base near a highway, and rolled all their armor/helos/etc out to get the flags in order...

Please explain why you think that is "cheap". If your team or commander is too busy to care about your flanks and leave them exposed, then you deserve to have the rear flags taken.

I too would like to see a supply lines game mode just to break the monotony of conquest sometimes.

Fixed spawns are dumb there is nothing better then getting all the points and then hunting down the remaing few as the fate of there team dwindills down to nothing and you win with this impressive lead......but it does suck if your on the other side

I do believe it was Medina Ridge. Sadly, it normally ended up in a camping fest for the Opposition because once that Hind got over the ridge, the completely unorganized coalition got owned...then they were just running around the rest of the map while the opposition pounded them in their main. It was a great map when both sized were organized, especially when that narrow pass was being fought over a lot instead of that first base.

I wish they had have completed supply-line (c'mon, if the community can do it you know the developers could have just sat down for an hour and completed it as a team) and made THAT the game mode for ranked servers. Of course, we can always dream for it in a patch, but eh, doubt it. Too many "OMG I R SNIPAR" people who'll get mad when they sneak behind enemy lines and no one is there.

I personally feel maps that have flags that can only be captured in a certain order are dumb.. the only person I can see will be happy is the commander when he gets to arty just about everybody.

But hey, whatever rocks your boat, I just won't play them but that's just me..

I like maps with uncappable spawns, at least then you know you won't run out of enemys untill the fat lady is singing

Cover your flanks, react to CO spotting flanking units, and you won't have that problem.

If you get hit between a rock and a hard place because your team did not cover all it's bases you deserve everything coming your way, and then some..
