I met a creepy server admin today...

I'm a BF2 newbie (about 20 hours/PFC) and I was playing on a multiplayer server today when I was suddenly team-killed by a guy who apparently wanted the chopper seat I was approaching. I respawn, same location, and same guy team-kills me again, for the same reason. I vote to kick the idiot off, and it turns out he's the server administrator! He kicks me off!

Okay, my feelings got hurt (I really like this game), but I'm over it now. I guess anyone can start their own BF2 server and do whatever they want with impunity, right?

Ah well what can ya do, there are alot of goof's like that. Its not just this game, any multiplayer game you find they will definately have people like that, so my suggestion, play on Official ranked servers, not clan owned or whatever. Just leave the server when you find a dummy like that. It just shows that you are better then him in all aspects. :)

Unfortunately there are several admins like this one, but there are also many good ones.

Its true there are alot of good admins and then there is just the bad ones....but i was on a server today and the admin was way cool teams where even then out of nowhere MEC (me) has just about every spawn point so people on the other team start jumping ship so he starts tossing them out it was amusing to me

yup stuff like that happens in all games, especially cs source.

In fact I remember once in source I joined a server and the admin messed up my config and actually entered stuff like "fps_max 1" and could actually execute commands. It's actually possible for admins to do anything they want if they have the right server mods.

The same thing happened to me in one day! i've always seemed to have good luck with people wanting to be the gunner in my chopper and they've been good. But this bloody idiot Admin kept doing what he done to you. he couldn't even fly well so he kept killing me cos he was back for the chopper so often. I think he kicked me cos he was embarassed that he was a crap pilot! lol!!
Practice on single player or empty servers ya monkeys!!!

Actually I'm a decent chopper driver. After years of simming on Microsoft Flight Simulator choppers, the BF2 choppers are a breeze, and very forgiving. :p

Wow! Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be a little more discriminating in the future.

It's a real world out there. Going online--in any context--is just like hitting the big city streets: you never know who or what you're going to encounter. And I wish there were some underlying explanation for the bad behavior you see out there, but I'm not sure there is. Oh well, they're the minority, at least. :)

Yeh, there are a load of arsehole admins, but there are thousands of good ones as I've found out, I've had the game since release date but only have 20hours on it so I guess I'm a n00b too lol.
