I think its more like 10hrs gaming as China with the 13kills and 5 kill streak. You dont need 250 hrs, I got it the other day and im nowhere near 250 hrs global.

I think its more like 10hrs gaming as China with the 13kills and 5 kill streak. You dont need 250 hrs, I got it the other day and im nowhere near 250 hrs global.

It's definitely a time-based requirement, this much is confirmed simply by the in-game description (Time in Service, Time in Theatre). Just how much time is undetermined. If it took a kill streak or a certain amount of kills beyond that time requirement, then it would give you some in-game confirmation as soon as you got the kills to meet the requirement, just like the kit combat badges, or the Good Conduct Ribbon.

I was just awarded the Far East ribbon this week. I have about 200 global hours. Not sure here but I had just clocked in over 50 hours in the Chinese army this week. Also I did have a particularly good round on Dalian Plant the day I got the award. I have a lot more hours in MEC but no ribbon there yet.

Yes it would be nice if ea would tell us everything we needed to know about the ribbons except just going with these guess that people and sites say

well spank me senseless i stand corrected - all i know is i got both EXACTLY when i hit 250hrs... kind of peeves me off when somone with <18000 points can get it lol. and even looking at the stats there is nothing special or outstanding in regards to theatres in your profiles so what gives lol!

I remember having a really good round on that day. I must of had a decent kill streak so I'm sure that's part of requirements. I racked up a lot of points fast, and I joined the server in the middle of the round. So like 50 points in a few minutes from a lot of kills and flag defense points.

I dont have 250 hours of global play but I did get my MEC service ribbon. I have almost 160 hours of play. ??????

I got mine with less then 250 global hours. Must be another requirement or EA is changing the requirements in advance of the patch. I am seeing all over the forums at BF2s.com people getting unexpected awards.

I just got it yesterday but i have no more then 100 hours of playtime and less then 40 with MEC forces. Very weird, but I really like it :)

Are you saying you got the Far East ribbon as MEC?

Edit: Oh I checked your stats page, you meant the Mid East ribbon
