Will the PKM improve my combat ability?

At the mo, im support with the SAW. But my KD ratio is about 1 in 3 and want to improve this, will the PKM help. Im Corporal at the mo and will unlock at Sergeant? Any wise words of experience???? Also support tactics any tips??

as long as you dont use it or any support weapon on non-urban maps..you should be fine. And enjoy finding out how screwy hit detection can be sometimes.
And get used to forgetting not every class has to be prone when it shoots its gun.

thanks, know what you mean with the hit detection. what do you mean with the prone point?

I like to play support, the big guns are a lot of fun. It is hard to get a good kill to death ratio unless you use it a the right range, I find 10 - 30m. Don't shoot at targets farther away unless they have already seen you. Problem is that going prone makes it easier to get hit in the head, if someone with a assault rifle sees you at a distance and are in single shot mode - you are dead.

wow it has improved my combat ability 10fold man learn to control it, always go prone, fire in 5-8 shot bursts, and you shall pwn!!!!

No weapon will improve your combat ability. You need to learn how to fight better, join the squad of the highest scoring player on your team, and follow him around watching what he does.

You need to be prone to fire the pkm or any other support gun for that matter for its just to inaccurate. Try dolphin diving to get a good upperhand on the enemy if they are relativly close and see you since you go prone just as fast but you get closer and are harder to hit. Sneaking up on people is key, so try and stay on the edges of fights unless its like karkand where theres allys and such, then just run down them prone and fire to hell. Burst pkm at certain ranges that are more geared towards further away and blast to hell when they are about 10 feet in front or less.

I just got staff seargent and unlocked pkm and it is just bout the same as saw overall. Both will drop someone about the same speed and have same power over distance but pkm is far better at bursting for medium ranges.

I am not to impressed with it. I usually find myself playing with the default support weapon. Should have unlocked G36C.

Another way is when you die, just close the spawn screen and press C, have a look at some of the other players and watch how they play.
