In your humble opinion, what is the best Modern Air Combat Flight simulator currently on the market? Is there any good simulator that features the A-10 warthog?

Yeah there is and its called Lock-on that supports A10 and F15
and Mig-29 and SU-27 Su-33 SU-25

Lock on is a VERY good game but it has a rather large learning curve.

Lock On Gold is available for $29.99. It includes the Flaming Cliffs add on for Lock On.

It's a great jet sim with plenty of eye candy, but does take a hefty PC to run it on high settings. The only downside is no dynamic campaign. It's relatively easy compared to F4:AF below.

The ultra realistic Falcon 4 has been redeveloped, enhanced and repackaged as Falcon 4: Allied Force, with dynamic campaigns based in Korean or Balkan theatres and more of an emphasis on multiplayer than previous. It's supposed to be great, I'm waiting for mine to be delivered.

For WWII action, the IL2 Sturmovik/Forgotten Battles sims are a good buy.
Pacific Fighters is supposed to be excellent, but I've not played it yet.

Lock on is a VERY good game but it has a rather large learning curve.

If you dont use the training missions yes you wont get the plane controlled!
But it has options for people that just started with Lock-On and further on!

Its a very good game to learn about the planes!

It depends on wich plane you choose:

- When you choose for bomberplane you will have missions to bomb objects in an area with or without escort of fighterjets in any type of weather! (you will be facing enemys)

- Fighterjets has a large scale of missions that can be escorting, defending, attacking in any type of weather and so on! (you will be facing enemys)

Its a very impressive game with good grafics on the plane and ground!

LOMAC is pretty complex yea, I'd recommend it if yer into sim stuff like that though.

Detailed as in reality landscape in FS2004 or detailed as in enviourment grafical details in Lock-on?

Speaking about detailed grafics this is me and my brother "Gandhi" behind one computer switching turns testing the new addon for lock-on.

What goes up must come down, me going to land ( you can see the heatblur on the engine when its powered down abit.


Flaps are down on landing, and i just pushed the throlle full to make it a smooth landing.

LOMAC has the best looking ground textures I've ever seen in any game, damn amazing...

But I'm more of an IL-2:FB junkie right now :)

ive always enjoyed FA18 Korea/ Iraqi Freedom ... but the air combat isnt as good as bf2..maybe cuz in bf2 u fly lower to the gorund so it looks like ur travelling a lot faster, but in iraqi freedom..its so easy to get shot down
