Moding programes

HEy guys.


YOur gunna hate me for this.

And before you ask i have googled it and i have searched for it.
What is the best programe to use for making new vehicle, weapon and unit addons?
I already have the BF2 editor and i am just getting used to it but i have no clue how to make a vehicle in it. And i have read the tutorials, i understand most of it buut there are some things i dont know how to do like, Just how to start making a new model. Can you give me some basic pointers? I am a NOOB to moding and want to get better.

To model use something like 3ds max or maya or gmax. For texturing use something like photoshop and for coding just open notepad.

i heard that you can get 3ds max *cough*Illegally*cough* ahem
any info? and can you give me some links for MAya cus i cant find jack on that programe.

Gmax is the only free one on there. Notepad is expensive though because it comes with windows, sorry

u can keep downloading trial versions of 3ds max,if u have good internet

just if u have saved works save them to another folder other then 3ds max so it doesnt delete it when u uninstall it
