Join Game = Updating Server List

Today, every time I hit "Join Game", it starts to load, then flashes the "Updating Server List" message, then back to Server Browser... Restarted, same results.

I have had an error with the Login server in the past, but it always went away after a couple hours. This is different, and I am wondering if it is related to deleting my old bf:1942 mods and client?

Is this a common problem? It is one I have not yet encountered on my path to Sergeant, but it means that today I cannot seem to play... Any help is appreciated.

Make sure your firewall allows BF2 to play through. Also update PunkBuster manually (forum search, been covered).

If that doesn't work, uninstall the game. Double check to make sure registry and My Documents entries have been removed. Re-install the game and patch v1.02

same problem here.
no changes in any game data made...
still i get what seems to be a server connect fail but without any message.

join game --> joining game --> refreshing server list --> nothing

****es me off that such a game has issues like this.

Well established fact that the server list is a POS, just look forward to the new patch is all I can really offer at this itme.

Is it showing the spawn screen then going back to server list?

What modems/connections do you have?

i had a system crash the next day after the problem, but i'm sure it wasn't related. i managed to solve the problem with the uninstall/reinstall method.
worked like a charm. still a very brutal way to undo a unknown problem in the game.

unluckily my boot disk decided after another night of happy bf2-ing to die on me.
