Weapon Compare Tool

In the past couple of weeks, looking around these forums, i saw alot of posts asking "whats the best weapon", and a lot of responses that go "use the search button". It kinda got me thinking that its a possibility that all these new posters, reposting the same questions over and over, perhaps needed a little more help. Now not to knock that little table thats been floating around the BF2 community that has all the stats written out in a spreadsheet, i figured id take that info, plus what else i could find and put it together into a cool flash project that i despretly needed to take up alot of the free hours ive had at work.

So here it is.

Check it out.... use it, dont use it... whichever makes you feel good...
if you do use it and see anything that needs correcting, (spelling errors, stat errors, buttons that dont work properly) let me know.

Allthough i didnt find it vey usefull the potential is there for something really great ,maybe u could add shory videos of the weapons in action

But the recoil and deviation numbers... what exactly do they mean?

Recoil occurs after each shot. like the kick back of a big ass gun
if you use a weapon in auto mode, youll notice it most...

the best example i can give is the PKM. if you aim at the wall and just let it rip... youll notice after each shot the bullets begin to travel up the wall.

deviation is more or less the accuracy of each consecutive shot.
the pkm is again, a good example, in that the cross hairs begin to expand as you fire. this basically is used to show how innacurate the gun is becoming as your firing off your 50th round.

you can fight the recoil while your firing by moving your mouse (downward in the PKM's instance) but the only way to prevent deviation is to switch your gun into semi auto mode, and wait a short sec between shots, or burst fire (the pkm doesnt have a semi mode).

little hard to explain... but i hope that helps.

two questions...does deviation occur with sniper rifles like m24 or m95 since u dont really fire consecutively?
and
do they really do the same damamge of 95? i couldve sworn that m24 did a lot less

According to the sources ive used, yes, the M24 does the same damage as the M95. theyre both bolt action however, and suffer a recoil.

The Deviations per shot are more noticable in the Type 88 and the SVD, as theyre semi auto, But i do belive there is a deviation in the M95 and M24 if you can manage to fire quickly enough.

Im no expert with the sniper rifle, i prefer my PKM or G3, so it may be better to ask a good player that uses the sniper guns to detirmen how big a difference it makes, or if its even noticable... but the deviations are in the game... so i imagine theyre used somewhere.

Batgra, as I also said in my email to you, the M95 does more damage than the M24.

An easy way to see this is firing at those explosive barrels/fuel tanks.
With the M24 you'll need 2 shots to blow one up, with the M95 1 shot is enough.

its my understanding that the M95 will explode those barrels faster then the M24 because it pierces through them much like the glass on a helicopter...

i could be wrong, and would like to keep this as accurate as possible... if you can find a source where the damage is documented ill gladly revise this. :)

M95 pierces through armored glass, and personal body armor (assault, support, AT etc.). The disadvantage is it has the accuracy of the SVD.
