A good pc

Im wondering if anyone knows what type of new pc i should get coz ive been savin up and now that i have my money i can get my new pc
I dont have to worry about how much everything costs coz i kno i guy who gets discounts off PC.
So if anyone knows what i should get keep the money limit under 800$.

I thought you were building your own? I can put a parts list together tonight if you'd like. Will you require a monitor, keyboard, mouse and CD/DVD drive or do you already have those items?

no i only need the main part of the pc.
I dont really know how much any of the stuff costs but i have a few thigs in mind. Since im getting a new pc in it i want to have a 6800GT about 1000 ram (i can add my ram from my old pc which brings it to 1220)
and thats all i really had in mind so if you can tell me what else i need (im buying it all together) that would be really cool thx.

I suggest you don't add new ram. What I'm gathering is you're looking for an upgrade. CPU, Memory, Video card, Motherboard am I correct? If so then staying under $800 is not an issue. Oh, and you should go with a new Powersupply as well. My suggestions would be this:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200 or better 190
RAM: Corsar ValueSelect 2 gig kit 2x1gig sticks. 216
Mobo: Asus A8N-E or SLi if you're going that route 116/135
Video: Nvidia: 6800gt PCIE 280
ATI: X800XL PCIE 250
PSU: 450W or better w/atleast 20A on the 12 volt rail 75
Total 850-900
You can also go with DFI or MSI motherboards. You may be able to shop around and get lower prices but that will get you high settings.

You can also go AGP, I could get that price down and give you more options. I'll PM you tonight so check it out and I'll put another list together. I'll use only the 6800gt, do you want AGP or PCI-e?

Sorry, PM is Private Message....I'll just post it in here for you. The ATi X800XL is the ATI equivalent of the Nvidia 6800GT and it's slightly less expensive. Well if you're upgrading your CPU then you have to make sure your current motherboard will accept the new one. What do you currently have for a computer? OH and AGP and PCI-e are the 2 types of slots the video cards use.

i think u misunderstood me. I meaning to get a whole new pc. With the stuff that you advised inside of it when i buy it. Cuz at the moment my PC is so out of date that most new games dont work on it! but ill tell u my pc specs anyway . . . for fun.
