I have this problem with my onboard sound. I have the crappy Realtek sound. I have this motherboard http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A4830946 Now I have my 5.1 speaker set up plugged into the center/sub, rear speaker, and side speaker jacks. But I cant hear my system sound its really weird. I mean I can hear mp3's playing in WMP and hear battlefield 2 and stuff. But I cant hear things like AIM sounds or like flash movies and stuff like that. But heres the weird part for all of those who had Realtek sound there is that program soundman. When I put a EAX effect on my sound like "Room" I can hear all my system sound. But its echos alot. Do any of you know of any fixes? And btw I cannot buy a soundcard, I have alot going on in my life and I have already spent 1200 on this pc.

Re: Oboard Sound Problem
My ALC850 onboard sounds better than my old Sound Blaster Live! did. You may want to reinstall the drivers for the audio device from your Mobo Driver CD or diskette. The only problems I have with it now, is occassionally when I drop out to the BF2 menu the sound freezed and sounds like a monotone dying Squirrel. -

That's THE best description I've ever heard of an audio problem! LMAO. On topic, I would second Dethred's suggestion of reinstalling the drivers and any sound control software packaged with it, as they may allow you to tweak the sound more efficiently while using surround sound.Originally posted by Dethredsound freezed and sounds like a monotone dying Squirrel.Comment
