4ch stereo, does bf2 support it?

hello, I have an asus motherboard audio card that does support 4 channel surround sound so I went out and got a pair of speakers for behind me.. only problem is when I am in game it seems like the sounds are all around me. I want bullets to be wizzing by me but I need to know if battlefield2 supports any type of surround sound before I run out and get a nice audio card.. thanks

oh yeah, and I can set the quality high fine but I cant run hardware mode or I get a scratch sound that sounds like rain, sandpaper, and the evil noise that came out of the machine when the ghosts in ghostbuster got free.
