I Lost ALL Respect for Scoring in this game..

Played Mashtuur City at 70.86.75.10 Server name was '.' (just a dot)

Immediately I noticed huge scores of the enemy team players..

4 players had 500+ points.. Top guy was named SavagePT

3-4 of them were hopping from point to point ALL game in a chopper
capping flags.. The Ticket Counter must have been set very high as the
game went on and on for an hour or more and the game was still nowhere
near finished..

SavagePT had 0 kills..but yet 549 points when I left.. I reviewed his stats
online and hes got over 75000 points.

All this time, I have respected players who had far more points than
I have been able to obtain.. but now, I respect nobody's..

I am guessing SavagePT and his buddies slapped up the server and set
the settings so that they could stat whore for a while, since the server
name was a discreet '.' When I msg'd that they were stat whores, I
was immediately banned. The server was hosted by FPMServers.com.

This is why I feel strongly that Ranked servers should be done away
with totally. A server is a server.. and with the silly exploits people
are doing, the whole stat system is a sham.

When 4 players are able to throw up 500+ points in a matter of 1 game,
using the chopper capping exploit, its a disgrace to the game.

I'm guessing my ban was a suggestion that I beat it, so that they
could continue to stat whore in private.


EA's emphasis on ratings, rankings, unlocks, badges, awards, merits, etc
takes away from the real fun, and what the game should be about..
Stat padders, exploiters, and these types make this game sad.. and
a bore. Shame too, BF2 had potential.. but EA f'ed it up.

You know what? Either EA unlocks all guns (because thats the real purpose of points) or play on unranked, global unlocked servers.

Sounds like you have put a lot of importance on it, why not just go play the game and instead of whining on and on try to take the chopper out.

Ignoring the problem doesnt help it, he has every right to be annoyed. I to am getting bored of the l33tism people think they have by having higher ranks, even though i witness them blackwhore all the time.

Fine shoot them down u say but wait 30 seconds later they are back! whoring again, gotta have very persistant team to keep having anti tank and shooting them down. And to be honest i didnt buy this game so i would have to be anti tank all the time when fightin us side using blackhawk!

You're totally right. Points have ruined this game. If people wern't so damn pathetic and played the game for fun, then there wouldn't be all of these annoying exploit using point whoring turds running around bastardising the game just for a few damn numbers.

Find another server. There's plenty to choose from.

For every stat whore, there's another who wants to play the game properly and has the same beefs about stat whores as you do.

Here's my advice...because I agree that it can be frustrating...

Don't worry about anybody's points but yours...and I don't mean that in a sarcastic way... I'm just saying, if you just focus on what you are accomplishing without cheating, padding, hacking etc...then be happy with what you've done...

I really dont care about the stats, I just ignore them. High stats doesn't mean someone is elite...

yeah ranked servers sortof take away the fun cuz it "makes" you play the game...a wicked good player could only be a private even tho hes good and i doubt hes willing to spend 5000 hours just to show it...

Exactly. I personally don't think ranking is to add an element but keep the blinding "OMG TEH STATS R TEH WINXORZ" people who will actually play the 20 years total play time it takes to get corporal, well, playing the game. That way when new expansions come out, they'll see it as a need instead of an expansion, and buy it. It's not about us, it's about EA and their dollars I say. If that little bit of speculation doesn't convince you, look at ranked server prices versus non-ranked and you should be.

The rankings, if they must have them, should be entirely reworked to both reward people who play for a moderate time (it needs SOME time to acheive things, but not 2 decades or so) and the people who are actually GOOD at the game and are all around team players, not the lifeless n00bs who point farm and all that crap.

Ranked servers provide an incentive to try and acquire badges/medals/awards/ribbions/whatever. Sure it can be abused, but it's like a side-quest that can make things more interesting if you get bored.
