Played it and loved it. It OwnZ. It's was so nice to play the good ol' shoot'em up. I am getting the full game with no doubt. And I also played some Co-Op with my brother, it was loads of fun.

Someone answer a question for me (since I'm too lazy to register on some SS forum to ask it).

I played "SS: The First Encounter" and loved it. I then played "SS: The Second Encounter" and loved it. But the thing is that there were supposed to be three parts! What happened to the third and final encounter? Did it just morph into what is now called "Serious Sam 2?"

There were never plans for Third encounter. After they finished the Sencond Encouter, they started working on Serious Sam 2.

So they lied and misled us, eh? At the end of SS:SE, they did the Back to the Future thing and stated on-screen: "To be concluded in Part 3" (or something like that). Just like in SS:FE they did a "to be continued in the Second Encounter" (again, something like that).

Okay, the point is that this not my imagination. There were supposed to be three episodes, but only two were released, and I always wondered why the series wasn't concluded like it was supposed to be.

I don't know about the SS2 demo, but if you've every played the original Doom or Painkiller, you've played a serious sam game (to an extent). Very similar gameplay.

I'd say painkiller more so...
I played the demo last night, I had also never played a SS game before. It's not too bad, be great in co-op. It's worth the 20 minutes waiting for the DL to finish.

No reloads, massive weapons (funny ones to like birds holding bombs), crapload of enemies. Its all good so far. The demos rather short but worth it. Took me like 5 minutes to dl, love college internet weeeeeee.

I'm not sure how to get past the "locked" door thingy. If that's as far as I can go, that's the shortest demo I've ever played.

Haha AT39 my house mate said the exact same thing, you need to kill all the monsters in your area (including the big one to the bottom left)... I ran out of lives at the hover pad part.

Serious Sam 2 is about the closest we may get to Duke Nukem: Forever.
