I have three questions that I need help with

I have three questions:

1. When I try to logon a multiplayer gamesite (after long searches) the response come back that my game settings are not standard (or something to that effect) and I'm not permitted to play. I never changed my settings that I'm aware of. Could someone explain to me what I need to do to get pass this message.

2. I play single player and I put in the cheat code for invincibility, it doesn't work --- I always get an error. Could someone explain to me what I need to do to get the aiCheats.code Tobias.Karlsson to work.

3. When I try to install the upgrade from UAGames, I get an error message during the very beginning of the install. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

maybe #3 is cause of #1
what version are you running?

and there is a problem upgrading some systems
so. the hard solution is to completely uninstall
and the more elegant solution requires an edit inside your registry
I do not have time now to go through my notes
maybe someone else here in forum can . . .
but it had something to do with . . .
if you made a custom folder during your first install
and called it ...\...\bf2\
vs
...\...\bf2 - - note - - there is no trailing "\"

1# reinstall. hope you got the DVD.

2# dunno, never touched single player. try gamefaqs or cheats on gamespot.

3# what the message says is important but without knowing i would say its probably just a bad d/l. try getting it from somewhere else. avoid pausing/resuming the d/l as that sometimes causes problems. not just w/ the patch but w/ all d/ls.

on #2 - the cheats don't work. Don't waste your time trying to get them to work!

Are you patched to 1.02? If you are, unstall everything, reinstall and patch, and try again. Sounds like PunkBuster is thinking you are using a hacked BF2 executable, or at least different to what's expected. Avoid ***** cracks.

You need an updated (1.02) version to play. If you cannot update to version 1.02 for some reason, there's really only one easy solution:

1) uninstall the game completely;
2) install the game;
3) apply 1.02 patch.

This should work.

About that cheat: try a clean install & update first. Play it online, you probably won't think about singleplayer for the next few weeks

patching fails because if original install had the trailing "\" - like I said in my earlier post
