    For Ex BF1942 Mouse Pilots

Hi there, I used a combination of the mouse and keyboard to fly in bf1942 and it worked fine, but there seems to be a bit of a problem in BF2, at least for me.

If i remember correctly the inverted mouse option was default for flying in the original version of the game. Now it isn't for some reason, so the first time i played BF2 i found this had changed by plumetting straight in to the ground. Ok, no harm done, went to the options menu and inverted the mouse.

Problem solved - or was it? murphy's law states that the solution to one problem will invariably create a new unforseen problem to which the solution is simply undoing the the original problem's solution. This seems to be the case here.

Let me get to the point. The look around feature in the cockpit seemed to work fine in '42, perfectly in tune with my brains peception of what i should do to look up or down i.e. i would hold shift down, pull the mouse backwards and look up, this no longer works this way in BF2 as it seems that if you invert the mouse in the options menu, doing the same thing will make you look down instead while using the look around feature. Go figure :hmm:

Anyone have a solution for this?

For those of you who are itching to tell me to sod off and go buy a joystick worry not!, if indeed there is no solution to this problem then it has made flying with a mouse and attaining the skill level i had inviable for me, therefore i will be the happy owner of a new joystick very soon.
( oh happy days of flying in BF1942 with ye old mouse)

there could be a key bind which reverts it (in AA we had keybinds doing lots of things at the same time) dont know if tats possible for BF2 though.

hmmm, in BF2 you have trouble getting a key to do anything at all! :hmm: maybe editing the *.con files...will try when i get home, just hope it doesn't get noticed on the content check...

I thought Murphy's Law stated that if anything can go wrong, it will.

this same thing gets me as well, they need to make it so that the free look can be inverted seperatly from the standard flying controls..
