Hijacked Serial Number

Hi,
I purchased BF2 from Best Buy last weekend, and have been playing it fine all week. When I went to play today, it said my serial number was already in use. What can I do so I can still play BF2? How do I get this solved through EA other then getting a new serial number?

er that sucks... well you are doing 2 things:p

1. Your serial number got jacked.
2. You are just trying to get a serial from EA witch is what you are trying to do:p

Contact EA and tell them what has happend, i'm sure they will ask for some sort of verification that you bought the game.

just contact ea and tell them what happened, you will just have to prove you bought the game and they will send you a new serial.

i see where you are coming from, but in reality I doubt that many people post on here before they even buy bf2 (unless they played the demo first or were waiting for bf2 to come out from along time ago)...

I have been posting for about a week now, and I dont have the game. I have never played the demo, and have never even seen the game being played. I started posting because I was on the verge of ordering a system that could handle BF2. I ordered it two days ago finally. So Im sure there are people that dont have the game that are posting, just not very many. And my thread count sure is a hell of a long way away from Acanz's.

To resolve this, you can update your CD key using the Battlefield 2 Code Utility.

1. Open My Computer
2. Navigate to the Battlefield 2 game folder (by default this is C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2).
3. Run the Battlefield 2_code.exe.
4. Enter your serial number in the boxes provided and click Next.

Disregard the error concerning the image not loading on the left hand side.

This should reinsert your serial number into the registry which should resolve the CD Key error.

It can totally happen guys, I had a friend over last night to play bf2 on my connection... and it gave him a cd key in use error... He's had the game for a couple of months with no problem, then suddenly after not playing for a few weeks because of Katrina, he gets a jacked message. He still doesn't have internet restored at his place yet so we can't test it again until he does.
Don't be so quick to flame someone, especially on a freaking support forum ffs.
