    Wohoo...

Ive spend 5+ hours in AA (stationary)... and 99% of my kills where choppers... planes are difficult to get down... mostly they fly by a friendly chopper leaving you with a TK punishing mob from the BH

      Ouch!
Most folks that fly, as the general consensous points out here in this thread, can, and usually do get the highest scores on the server. Giving them any more points would really suck for the game in general.
As for me, and AIR SUPPORT.
All it usually does for me, is ruin what otherwise could have been a very good, intense and fun battle over a flag, or ground space.

Oh and why we are at it....i personally think copters, and planes, spawn tiimes, should be like........way more then it is. Once up in the air, protect your plane. Otherwise, enjoy a lengthy camping on the runway good time.

        No more power to planes. I pilot quite a lot and its rediculously easy to take out armour with the fighter if you get enough practise -_-;

As with the AA missiles, its great that they're getting tweaked, previously the only time you can shoot planes out of the sky is by pure luck. They should probably tweak the missiles on the planes as well, those are just as bad as the AA missiles.

          Re: Aircraft support

I would think, K.I.A. the tweak would include the heatseeking code in general, as it applies to AA and the actual aircraft itself. Even though I hate planes and such, it just seems logical, that this "tweak" in the upcomming patch would cover HeatSeeking, across the board.

This, appart from very annoying, is unfair on that person as they usually get punished for it.
Yes, this needs some kind of fix. I accidentally took out my own teams cobra, which had 2 ppl in it, twice while dog fighting a mig. It was horrible, and since it happened twice the dudes probably thought I was doing it on purpose.

Good as ive know my A-A missiles on my jet to relock so YAY! And i agree on the increaded loading times for jets, this would even them out alot more.

One bomb does not destory the tank - that is already rediculouse.
In real life you don't even know a jet was there. So it's not real life, and you need two bombs, while exposing yourself to respwaning AA guns.
They better have tweaked the AA very slightly, otherwise, no one will play the jets, making this game lose its name battlefield.
If they will hit no better then in BFV - it will seem fair to me.
Just so you know, and I know it for a fact, AA missiles hit like **** in real life.

Haha.. but even if they do make the AA alot better, people will still be pilots, they will just have to get more skill with manouvering and learn to use the flares appropreatly. But it will be more of a challenge, which i cant say im not lookingforward to, bring on the AA!

But a lot of people think thats still not balanced enough. Same with the Blackhawk and point whoring with engineers on board.

I see your point, but I have to admit that I encountered only 3 pilots who gave my team hell from the sky, and I never rememeber getting upset from some over powered blackhawk (meaning, I never encountered this BH whoring people speak off). I've played roughly 60 hnours on the ground. So I am wondering how problematic this issue really is, and how much it is people trying to reduce other people's skills by making rules tighter instead of improving their on skills (which is a much harder job of course).
Judging from the times I've had "problems" with this, I think people want this game to be less skillful, and more "unreal" oriented (run ang gun).
This game, can be mastered by good tactics. But many players don't use that.
Jets should be taken down mostly by other jets. Maybe admins should start kicking pilots who use there jets only to bomb, not helping their team by hunting other jets when they can.
And by the way - start spotting enemy jets when you can. It's easy to do when you see them and it can point your team fighters to the enemy jets so they can intercept them.

                        Re: Aircraft support

It would be cool if there was an infantry call item for "Airstrike" that the pilots can hear and see a marker on the vehicle. With the mouse marking menu its very hard for pilots to use that (and lose control of the jet) to spot something too.
I fly non stop and can usually take a tank or APC out with just bullets

                            Re: Aircraft support

The problem with the singer/IGLA sites is that they are not really made for taking down jets. Stingers are used primarily against helicopters in real life. If they want a balanced anti-air weapon; they should add one SAM site for each team on maps with jets.

I Totally agree, thats why karkland is so popular, because its all about points and for those that can't fly. It was a huge problem in BF1942, most couldn't fly so they cried "make it even". If a pilot is kicking butt, then your side needs a skilled pilot to keep him busy, very simple. I do like the airstrike idea and even the SAM site idea...very cool ideas

Hey! "Airstrike" is a great idea! If it will actually be in the menu, it will be much easier for the infentry and pilots to understand, instead of every now and then spotting of vehicals.
This can be very simple to implement in the game.
Now that you bring it up, it seems so basic, I can't understand why DICE didn't include it in the menu
