along the lines of this topic....

the boxes you see in TV mode outline enemy vehicles and the boxes with crosses in them indicate friendly vehicles right?

I have gone into TV mode before (while still too far away to see the colored name) and aimed at a tank with an empty box around it, hit it with the missle and then was charged with a teamkill even though the box had no cross in it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Definitely have to keep clicking. I fired up my unranked server and was running around alone on Dalian Plant. I landed an AH-1 on a slight overhang near the artillery (so that the tv missile would have enough launch clearance and not detonate instantly) facing the carrier.
When I didn't click after the initial firing there would be some course drift, not much, but it compounds as the distance from IP increases. Click-click-click worked every time.
