Arty hit me and I lived to talk about it!!!!!

Check this out!

I was playing on the map, Dragon Valley, and I was at the right center cap point (wherer the HJ-8 is) behind the metal dumpster and the enemy commander called in his artillery strike. I was going to jump over the wall and try to run away but instead…. I flew straight up into the air about, oh, a flag pole, and a half, and then I pressed the parachute and it opened and I landed safely.

I cannot remember if I lost some life or not. But that was weird no?

I wonder if you jump when there is arty, you will take some damage and the shockwave (watch arty from afar on the ground and you will see what I mean) can push you into the air. Like the concussion grenade in Team Fortress with the Scout?

I'm not sure whether i was jumping or not, but it hapened to me in the demo quite a bit. I would go down ot 3-5 bars of health left, and be thrown into the air, then i died because i didn't know that i was still alive, and therefore didn't open the chute. BUt i defintely know that being thrown into the air is possible with arty strikes.

I survived a direct strike on Dalian plant too, I was prone at the flag nearest the dock the one surrounded by a small sandbag wall. It was too late for me to evade so I was just looking at the sky seeing all the shells coming down making a god awful noise, praying I'd live.

I did!

That's actually a bug - if you have your legs in a wall, splash damage won't hurt you. If a shell landed right on your head, well, you'd would die.

Yea im going to try those tips cuz for some reason im the one that always goes flying half wy across the map cause of arty :laugh:

What? So you're saying if you're prone with your back to a wall artillery cant kill you? Or looking up? I'm pretty sure I've been hit by artillery splash damage while prone against a wall before.
