    No more redundant threads...

Simple suggestion to reduce the number of redundant threads, but also concentrate wisdom for a given topic into one place (so we don't lose opinions).

Create a new forum (before Tips & Tricks, but nested in General) that contains a bunch of sticky threads. These threads should cover the most common topics, and each thread title should be a mutually exclusive subject. Examples include:

What do you think about the <PKM/G36C/G3/etc.>?
    What is <Blackhawk Whoring/Stat Padding/etc.>
    I think <stingers/grenade launchers/bunny hopping/etc.> suck.

Anyone who has anything to say about those subjects can post in the correct thread. New topics that cover this same material should be deleted regularly.

        Don't give up hope, Variable....

People who are born idiots - stay idiots. You just CAN'T educate them.

        "Oh look, a mine!" bang/punish
        "Oh look, another mine!" bang/punish
"Oh I bored of this. I'll go start a thread about which gun to unlock next."

As much as I think it is a good idea, I still think there will be idiots that are too dumb to realize that it is there, just like the 'Search' function that nobody seems to use.

            Re: No more redundant threads...

The best solution would be to have the "New Thread" button go to an interim page that lists the threads in the knowledge base (or whatever), with a link that says "I'm sure my subject isn't here, make a new topic".

If we find that the person DID make a new topic for an existing discussion, we can go to the offender's place of residence and commence with swirlies, followed by a three-strike ban.

The problem with Search (and the reason why I suggest this alternative) is that it sucks. It isn't intelligent about search terms, and returns no results or way too many.

An index of items is easier to scan, and since the number of common topics amounts to 20 or so, it wouldnt be hard to scroll down and look. It beats clicking through 20 pages of search results for "unlock".

Great idea, go postthis into the totalbf2 feedback section, in there, the mods roam around and look at EVERYTHING that is posted, they might take action, it's not that hard to suggest something and it to happen, somebody once suggested a poll forum, then it came, and so on and so forth, post things in the feedback section, they really become valued opinions.

"Reply" button not working for you in those threads?

(Notice the additional irony of me keeping this thread alive?) :)
