They cleary stated in an interview that the game levels/maps are not replicas of any real location. So that if you ever went to Mashtuur City in real life, it would not look (be layed out) the exact same way as portrayed in the game.

WOW:shock: , i thought all the places in BF2 were fake, but seeing the google earth map, it actaully looks a bit like dalian in BF2. THats awesome, i'm guessing that EA's explanation (excuse) as always, will be smething like, it's in the future, so we put a nuclear powerplant instead of the coal one in actual real life.

I had noticed this as well in a geography book at the towers. Hey I wonder if any of the other maps look like places in China.
