    Blowing Up Bridges

I wanted to get feedback from other people on how they feel about blowing up bridges.

For maps like Karkand and Operation Clean Sweep I will be a spec op first spawn and blow up my own teams bridges to the other spawn points.

I've noticed that these are the spawn points the enemy generally tries hardest to get and by blowing up the bridges there forced to go the long way around, you wouldn’t think it dose but I've noticed this SEVERLY limits their effectiveness at capping that point or the next point.
Also instead of having two ways to get to that flag, my team and the enemy are now limited to just one route, thus the enemy is engaged and eventually killed.

For a Map like Kubra Dam, I make DAMN good and sure I blow up the bridge leading to the Americans forces, it prevents lame spawn campers from getting to the Americans, but it really hampers the Americans from quickly deploying to the rest of the map.

I've been blowing up my own team's bridges for so long, and every single time I think it’s a key component for my team winning a round.

What have you seen? What do you think?

I can tell you that blowing bridges on Dragon Valley is useless since every bridge has one or more land bridges near it.

As for blowing the bridge in Stike at Karkand, most "base runners" at the beginning of the game will go across the canal - at least I do when I'm USMC. I sometimes, in an APC go into the water and take the base next to the MEC's main base on the 64-man map.

I find its best to lay C4 or place C4 on a vehicle and leave it on a bridge an wait for the enemy to come across. Many time either the enemy jump into the vehicle or I just blow the vehicle and take out one or more enemy in the process.

To really screw up the enemy try blowing the bridge in multiple locations (most bridges have 2 or more spots you can blow the bridge requiring an engineer repair all the spots before crossing).

If you camp the bridge you can kill the engineer as he tries to repair the bridge. I can't count the number of times I killed a tank driver that got out and tried to repair a bridge.

Silly tank driver -- drive up to the blown bridge slowly and it will repair magically without exiting your tank.

i wish they made a portion of the map so that when you blow up a bridge, thats it, theres no other way to get accross. either get an apc or swim. there probably is one, on a map somewhere that im not aware of but i've yet to come across it.

          a good idea,

bf2 def needs some new maps, for ranked play, and that would be a great feature to have in a map

I agree. Blowing up the bridges definitely takes away from the enemy's ability to attack quickly. Plus, who doesn't love blowing up all that c4 at the same time? :p
