Just installed 2G of Ram WOW!!!!!

Well there are alot of people out there that just say one gig is enough...

I don't know but for for me 2G helped out lots!!!

Barton Socket A NF2 board 2335Mhz (o/c'ed) ?XP3400?
15K SCSI U320 adaptec 39160
RADEON PRO 128mb 9800

Went from 512MB single channel 2-3-3-6 to 2x1048Mb 2-3-2-5

Before I was to playing low low low on everything 800x600@70mhz 100% distance, people were telling me that I was crazy that I should be able to run medium etc without lag. ( I could but it would shutter lag at times startup would have 30-sec to 1min of jerking)

It did play better with 1G of 2x512mb on a loan it was better but with 2G wow.

I'm now playing on medium everything view 100% the 1100x???@70 only thing on off is the anti.

All I can say is wow! Believe those who actually run 2G, my suggestion is if you have dual channel run 2 1G sticks at the lowest cas possible. If you have 512MB skip the 1G upgrade go directly to 2G.

I did have 2 GB but my Mobo didnt like 4x512 config, so Im now down to 1GB. Still runs every thing on max aside from texture at a very high FPS. Although I miss the faster loading and the max texture detail Im not going to bother getting 2x1GB route as it looks sweet enough.

If I didnt already have 2x512 from my old system I would of got 2x1GB but I never thought I would have any issues with 4x512MB.

BTW. My brand new Crucial PC3200 512MB sticks are on Ebay.

Man sorry to say this but I just have too, no personal offense intended.

THOSE ARE THE WORST STICKS OF RAM YOU CAN GET, SOLDIER!!!!

Look at the cas rate of CL=3, problem with running 4x512mb is often times the motherboard will only work at 166mhz on the memory as opposed to 200MHz. Or the cas will drop to CL=2.5, but these sticks are terrible.

Everyone please, if your going to get memory get 2-3-2-5 or at least 2-3-3-6, good brands are geil Plat, OCZ Plat, corsair XMS. Check the timings... run 200MHz or 250Mhz at 3-3-3-7.

You might look to see how much those sell for, if they are decent sell the other set to the second highest bidder etc. I got my set of 1G sticks for 258 US shipped. They sell all day long for 300 on ebay well worth it.
