    BF2 Problems

I recently got BF2. Every once in a while it just randomly closes out of the program. It is at diffrent times too like gameplay, loading map, sometimes when I click to start it it never starts, when its showing the begining trademark things for dice eagames ect. Could this be a ram problem because I only have 512 ram. And when it sometimes closes out it goes to a blue error screen and it says its because IQRL_not_less_or_equal. Could this be from the game?
Also when i try to configure controls for my game pad I no thing that i can set to make a joystick of the gamepad the mouse functions for normal gameplay, only for vehicles, is there any way i can get it to use my gamepad?

The gamepad thing maybe under normal controls, otherwise, you will have to use a binding program which essentially will trick the computer into thinking you're moving the mouse. Usually gamepads or joysticks come with a program on their install CD.

As for the crash, it sounds like an IRQ problem. But I am not too sure. Perhaps someone with more experience with BSODs can be of assistance to you.

Ok I figured out that my BSOD was from my logtech mouse driver being an odd one that does that so I needed to update it. But im still having the random closeout problem. Also there is no setting i can switch to use the gamepad as the mous ingame and the program for the controler dosent seem to have it eather. Im using a Nyko 80650 Airflow EX PC Game Controller that says on the box it can do keyboard and mouse commands. Anyone know how else i can switch it?

Logitech has a Gaming Software Utility for that purpose. I just saw it on their website this morning. It's for mapping game pads to mouse and keyboard controlls I think.

Ok, the BSOD is fixed as is the controler. Now im still having constant closeouts that happen at diffrent times. Is it possible that it is a ram problem because I only have 512?

            Re: BF2 Problems

It's not likely because of the low amount of memory. But it could be the result of a bad stick of memory.

Well I tried system restore and reinstalling and closing all background programs and still no luck. If if its a bad memory stick how can I be sure that it is, and if it is than do i need to get a new one?

Download and run www.memtest86.com to test your memory modules.
